Why study Planning at Manchester?
Manchester is an exciting place to study planning and real estate – as a major UK city undergoing rapid urban change, it provides an ideal base for exploring urban development pressures and how these shape economic, social
and environmental futures.
To put your skills into practice, you will spend time on fieldwork – both around Manchester and on an international fieldtrip – and you can apply to spend one semester studying abroad at one of our exchange partners in Europe, the
US, South East Asia or Australia. You will also have two options for gaining industry experience – as a course unit taken in your second year, or as a year out on a paid professional placement in your third year (of an extended
four/five year programme).
