Uttley House is a welcoming and quiet hall for postgraduates and undergraduates.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Uttley House is based in a Grade II listed building, which was formerly owned by Sir Joseph Whitworth. Uttley is one of our smallest halls with just over 50 bedrooms.
Bedrooms offer either single (190x90cm) or double beds (190x135cm). Bedrooms have plenty of storage with a wardrobe, shelves, drawers and desk for studying.
En suite bathrooms include a shower cubicle, sink, toilet and mirror.
Uttley House is available to postgraduate students. For undergraduate students, Uttley House is classed as lifestyle-moderated, as a result, it is not available on the undergraduate application form. If you wish to apply for this hall, you must complete the application form and contact us directly at accommodation@manchester.ac.uk. Places for this hall are limited and application does not guarantee an offer of a room.

Why choose Uttley House?
Uttley House is a corridor-style hall with large shared kitchens. The kitchens include induction hobs, ovens, fridge freezers and plenty of storage space. They also have a large dining table to socialise with flatmates.
The hall benefits from lots of dedicated study spaces and lush gardens.
As you're on the Fallowfield campus, you'll also have easy access to the University's Armitage Sports Centre, cafe Brewed and an on-site bar.
We are currently redeveloping parts of the Fallowfield campus, including building new halls on the site of the old Owens Park Hall, Oak House and eventually Woolton Hall. At varying times, this will create some disturbance to varying parts of the site. We will continue to work with the contractor to minimise the impact on residents, but you should bear this in mind when accepting an offer of accommodation at Uttley House.
