Academic entry qualification overview
The minimum academic entry requirement for this Master's course is an Upper Second Class (2:1) UK honours degree or international equivalent in a relevant subject, such as the built environment, relevant engineering, science or management disciplines.
All applicants need to demonstrate competency in English language. Applicants who do not already possess a recognised English Language qualification will need to take a recognised test such as IELTS or TOEFL and attain the required English Language score:
IELTS : overall score of at least 6.5, with at least 6.5 in reading and no other sub-test below 6.0
Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic) : overall score of at least 58 and no sub-test score below 50
IBT TOEFL: overall score of at least 90, with no sub-test below 22
Pre-sessional English: We also accept successful completion of the 10 week pre-sessional English course run by the University Language Centre to meet our English language requirements. The Department requirement for the 10 week course is a valid IELTS score of at least 6.0 overall with at least 3 components at 6.0 including reading, and no other component below 5.5.
Please note we do not accept the 6 or 3 week pre-sessional courses to meet our requirements, and we do not accept pre-sessional course qualifications from other institutions.
Please note that for entry onto this MSc we do not accept previous UK study or previous study in English to fulfil our English language requirements. We will require an approved English language qualification as listed above.
