Facilities
We're investing in game-changing digital and physical tools to boost your learning and compete in an increasingly agile world.
With continuous investment in one of the biggest university libraries in the UK, several specialist libraries, extensive cross-campus IT facilities and a sharp focus on flexible learning, we make sure you’ve got everything you need to be successful in your degree.
My Manchester
My Manchester is the online portal exclusively for current University students and will be your gateway to all the essential news, resources and items you need to succeed.
At registration, all students are given a login for My Manchester, where you can access your profile, course details and exam timetables, as well as your University email and documents.
You’ll also have links to news feeds, blogs and social media, and access to notices from your academic School.
Research and lab work
Many degree programmes will include a proportion of lab work and we offer world-class facilities to support this. Among our most impressive facilities are the £40 million Integrative Centre for Molecular Cell Biology, the UK’s largest high-voltage laboratory, purpose-built facilities within our new home of engineering and materials, and Jodrell Bank, which houses the famous Lovell Radio Telescope and the Observatory Astronomy Research Centre.
Each Faculty has its own impressive facilities to help support your learning and study, which you can find out more about on the Faculty websites.
Flexible learning
We are at the forefront of flexible learning, and are making sure learning is accessible and inclusive to all.
Through our Flexible Learning Programme we are developing new delivery modes and have already introduced a range of digital enhancements, including video editing and digital document annotations – readying you for a future demanding creativity and digital know-how.
