Professor Liz Sheffield, PhD
Professor Liz Sheffield joined the Board of Governors in June 2015.
Liz is currently Associate Dean for Teaching, Learning and Students in the Faculty of Life Sciences, having formerly served as the Chief Admissions Officer and Senior Adviser for the Faculty. She has served as chair of the management committee of Hulme Hall residences and retains a keen interest in student welfare.
Her chair title is Professor of Cryptogamic Botany, which relates to her interest in the reproductive processes of plants that lack flowers. She holds a PhD from University College London, is a Fellow of the Linnean Society and the Royal Society of Biology, and is Chairman of Editors of the Biological Sciences Review – a magazine which reaches over 15,000 A-level students studying biology.
