GREAT scholarships 2026
If you're considering a postgraduate degree in the UK, then a GREAT scholarship can help.
In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, The University of Manchester is offering 3 scholarships to students in Bangladesh, Ghana and Pakistan applying for one-year Master’s programmes.
The GREAT Scholarships 2026 programme, launched by the British Council together with over 60 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam in accessing world-class UK higher education opportunities.
The scholarship programme offers financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at over 60 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Please note that applicants must be permanent residents and passport holders of Bangladesh, China (mainland only), Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, or Vietnam.
GREAT Scholarships
Applications for The University of Manchester’s GREAT scholarships will open to relevant offer-holders from December 2025. A scholarship application form will be emailed to all relevant offer-holders by the International Office.

*Eligible programmes: All on campus, full time taught master’s programmes apart from MBA, MPhil, Master of Architecture (MArch), Architecture and Urbanism (MA), Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Clinical Medicine and Dentistry degrees.
The following Master’s by Research courses are not eligible for the scholarships:

The University of Manchester GREAT scholarships will be awarded in the form of discount on published overseas tuition fees.
You must be holding either a conditional or unconditional offer to study at the University to apply to The University of Manchester GREAT Scholarship.

Please note that applicants to The University of Manchester awards should be residents and citizens of Bangladesh, Ghana or Pakistan.
Scholarships can only be awarded to applicants who have:
- received a conditional or unconditional offer to study at The University of Manchester by 23 April 2026;
- submitted a scholarship application form by 23 April 2026.
The scholarship application form will be emailed to all relevant offer-holders by the International Office.
Successful applicants will be notified by 29 May 2026.
