Global Futures Scholarships 2025

The University of Manchester is proud to offer more than 330 awards to international students commencing their studies in September 2025. The total value of scholarships offered will be over £4.5 million, and awards will be open to students applying for undergraduate and master’s degrees.

Undergraduate awards

The University of Manchester is proud to offer more than 100 merit-based undergraduate scholarships of up to £24,000 (£8,000 per year over three years) to international students from a selection of countries across the globe.

The Global Futures Scholarships for South Asia are open to applicants domiciled in the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Please note the application form will only be made available to you once you have applied for an eligible course and received an offer.

Master’s awards 

The University of Manchester is proud to offer over 230 merit-based master’s scholarships to prospective international students from a range of countries across the globe.

The value of The Global Futures Scholarships for South Asian students is £8,000. Scholarships will be awarded in the form of a discount on published overseas tuition fees.

Within South Asia, the awards are open to applicants domiciled in the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

GREAT Scholarship 2025

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, The University of Manchester is offering eligible students a GREAT scholarship of £10,000 towards tuition fees for one-year master’s programmes in specific subject areas to students from Pakistan who will enrol in the 2025/26 academic year.

The Higher Education Commission Pakistan offers a variety of scholarships for postgraduate level study in overseas universities.

The University provides general guidance on scholarships and funding.

Students interested in a one-year master’s degree can apply for the Chevening programme.

You can search our database for master’s funding opportunities. In addition, a number of other faculty, school and programme-specific scholarships are available to students from South Asia.   

For PhDs the University offers a number of competitive bursaries via individual Schools and research groups for well-qualified candidates. Please check with your prospective academic School for details and check the University’s postgraduate research funding database.
