How to fund your online course

There are a range of options to consider when deciding how to fund your online course:

  • self-funding
  • partial or full payment by employer
  • scholarship, bursary, alumni discount or award from another organisation
  • whether you’re located in the UK, EU or internationally

It’s worth researching what’s available as early as possible, allowing enough time to check your eligibility for external funding and being mindful of any associated deadlines for funding or course applications themselves.

We have tools and resources available for you to explore that will help you to make an informed decision.

  • Self-fund your studies

If you’re planning on funding online learning yourself, you have the option to break down the cost and pay in instalments. You can find out more information through the student support section on MyManchester, the University's student portal.

  • Secure employer funding

If your employer has a budget for training, you may be able to secure partial or full funding for a course. Speak to a member of your HR team or check back soon for our employee funding checklist.
