This unit will enable students to apply their knowledge from
The Medicine, Pharmacist, Patient and Public units in order to solve integrated exam questions and write an integrated Bench to Bedside Medicine Report, in addition to demonstrating their professional competency in practice.

Aims
The aims of the unit are for students to:
- Understand common drug structures and the underpinning science of formulation and impact on stability
- Individualise medicinal formulations for a patient
- Identify an actual or potential therapeutic problem with a patient using relevant resources
- Understand basic structure and function of key body functions and related common pathologies
- Apply knowledge of the professional and clinical role of the pharmacist in public health services
- Recognise pathophysiology of infectious agents
- Know how to search the library databases and reference journal articles
- Show practical laboratory skills required for units 10100,10200, 10300 and 10400.

Students need to achieve a mark of over 40% in the combined integrated assessments and pass the integrated practical skills assessment to progress to year two.
Feedback methods
Students will undertake formative and summative tutor marked assessments during semester one and complete coursework in semester 2 within individual units, these will provide feedback to students as they prepare for the integrated assessments. A sample paper will be available to demonstrate the style of the integrated case study assessments. Students will receive feedback on practical skills during online and on campus face to face practical activities where possible.
