Offer holder days

Many of our academic Schools hold offer holder days for students who have applied and/or received an offer to study with us at Manchester.

If you receive an offer, you may be invited to visit your academic School to experience your chosen course first-hand. Offer holder days are a great opportunity to explore the department, meet the people who could be teaching you, chat to current students, and get a feel for what it's like to study at Manchester.

Depending on your course, your offer holder day might include:

  • Course talks, taster sessions or practical activities;
  • opportunities to meet academics and current students;
  • tours of teaching spaces and specialist facilities.

You'll receive all the details about your offer holder day directly from your academic School if you're invited to attend.

If you’re unable to attend an offer holder day, you can find out more about Manchester and explore our campus through a guided campus tour. Some offer holder days may also include a campus tour, so check your itinerary before booking a separate tour and make sure the timings work for you.

Looking for an open day?

If you're still deciding where to apply and haven't yet received an offer, our open days are the best way to explore Manchester. You'll have the chance to attend subject talks, meet staff and students, and explore our campus and accommodation before making your application.

If you can't make it to an open day, you can still visit Manchester through a guided campus tour. While an open day offers the best opportunity to explore your subject and get a feel for student life, our campus tours are a great alternative if the open day dates don't work for you.

If you'd like to find out more about a course or have a question before you apply, please get in touch with the relevant contact listed on the course profile page.

My offer holder day allowed me to meet people who were potentially going to be on my course and some of my teachers, and gave me a flavour of how we’d learn. It was really reassuring to make friends that day and have a few familiar faces during Welcome Week.

We got a tour of the dental hospital and key parts of the campus, which helped me assess whether this was somewhere I'd love to study. Meeting people I got along with, learning from tutors who explained everything to me so patiently and then getting that ‘feeling’ when I walked around campus and envisioned myself on my way to class, all of that confirmed it for me!
