Bicentenary Global Futures Scholarships 

To celebrate its bicentenary in 2024, Manchester is proud to offer more than 200 awards to international students commencing their studies in September 2024. The total value of scholarships offered will be more than £3.5 million, and awards will be open to prospective bachelor’s and master’s students. 

Undergraduate awards 

The University of Manchester is proud to offer more than 100 merit-based undergraduate scholarships of £21,000 to international students from a selection of countries across the globe.  

The Bicentenary Global Futures Scholarships for South Asia are open to applicants domiciled in the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Master’s awards 

Manchester is proud to offer more than 100 merit-based master’s scholarships to prospective international students from a range of countries across the globe.  

The value of The Bicentenary Global Futures Scholarships for South Asian students is £8,000; scholarships will be awarded in the form of a discount on published overseas tuition fees.  

Within South Asia, the awards are open to applicants domiciled in the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Indian Government Scholarships

A number of Indian Government scholarships are available to students from specific states/backgrounds, including:

  1. Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence (Rajasthan)
  2. Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship (Maharashtra)
  3. National Overseas Scholarship Scheme
  4. Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship (Jharkhand)

In addition, a number of other faculty, school and programme-specific scholarships are available to students from South Asia.   

For PhDs the University offers a number of competitive bursaries via individual Schools and research groups for well-qualified candidates. Please check with your prospective academic School for details and check the University’s postgraduate research funding database
