Global Futures Scholarships 2025

The University of Manchester is proud to offer more than 330 awards to international students commencing their studies in September 2025. The total value of scholarships on offer will be over £4.5 million, and awards will be open to students applying for undergraduate and master’s degrees.

Undergraduate awards

The University of Manchester is pleased to offer more than 100 merit-based undergraduate scholarships of up to £24,000 (£8,000 per year over three years) to international students from a selection of countries across the globe.

The Global Futures Scholarships for South East Asia are open to applicants domiciled in the following countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Master’s awards

The University of Manchester is proud to offer more than 230 merit-based master’s scholarships to prospective international students from a range of countries across the globe.

The value of the Global Futures Scholarships for South East Asian students is £8,000. Scholarships will be awarded in the form of a discount on published overseas tuition fees.

Within South East Asia, the awards are open to applicants domiciled in the following countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Students interested in a one-year master’s degree can apply for the Chevening programme.

You can search our database for master’s funding opportunities. In addition, a number of other Faculty, School and programme-specific scholarships are available to students from South East Asia.   

For PhDs, the University offers a number of competitive bursaries via individual Schools and research groups for well-qualified candidates. Please check with your prospective academic School for details, in addition to the University’s postgraduate research funding database.

You may also be eligible for sponsorship from your own government. Although The University of Manchester will support any student applying for this type of funding, it is important that you understand the process and apply for this source of funding separately. You can apply to the University before your funding has been confirmed.
